Floor preparation is the key to every long-lasting, durable epoxy floors. Floor preparation tackles any existing floor contaminants such as old coatings, oils, residue chemicals, stains, glues and etc, that can prevent the epoxy coatings from bonding with the concrete slab.
We start every epoxy floor project by mechanically grinding the concrete floor, to remove the top layer of the concrete and bring it back to a clean surface.
Once the concrete has been cleaned, we move onto repairing any existing cracks and holes. Repairing any imperfections on the floor is an important step in ensuring your new epoxy floor will not lift, crack or peel.
Once we are happy with the state of the concrete, we move onto applying the epoxy. The method and the number of coats, depends on the chosen floor system.
